Directional gradients

I’ve just started to play with Intaglio.

I haven’t been able to find how to select the direction of directional gradients. Perhaps I’m just trying to do that the way I used to do in Canvas.

Use the gradient tool to drag a line from the gradient’s start point to its end point.

I tried this, but I do not understand how to ‘drag a line’. Do I use the line tool? Do I hold down control or something? Please help.

First select the object(s) containing the gradient, then choose the gradient tool, click where you want the gradient start point and drag to where you want the gradient end point.
