Catalina compatibility. 64-bit
Go64 reports that Intaglio 3.9.5 has one ‘component’ that is not 64-bit, /Contents/XPCServices/com.PurgatoryDesign.IntaglioHelper32.xpc. Will that affect how Intaglio works?
Go64 only reports as a warning, so maybe not serious.
Has anyone used Intaglio with Catalina?

5 Oct 2019, 9:41 amNo, because I can´t run Mojave/Catalina on my iMac2011. I know there´s a patcher but it will disable the 3d-accelaration of the graphic board which makes the Mac useless.

5 Oct 2019, 9:58 amHi All,
Can anyone clarify whether we should expect Intaglio to be compatible with Catalina?

25 Jun 2020, 1:50 amHi All (Ingemar perhaps?),
Can anybody confirm that Intaglio still runs on a production release of Catalina? Ingemar’s posted image of October 5, 2019 shows it working on a Beta release, so I am cautiously hopeful.

25 Jun 2020, 2:07 amYes - I have been using Intaglio on Catalina for some time now but I don’t use many of its more advanced features
Cheers Dave

25 Jun 2020, 5:13 amWhat are the odds that it will run in Big Sur?
Or is it the new chip that will kill it?

25 Jun 2020, 5:16 amThanks Dave,
Just to be sure, what release of Intaglio are you running?

The odds are pretty good. Apple can’t make a CPU family switch without an emulator for the old. However, they will drop that a couple of versions ahead, just like they did with the previous ones. 68k under PPC, PPC under Intel 32-bit, Intel 32-bit under 64-bit…
Anything else would be madness, suicidal. So it will work for a while, but we will feel that it is too short, and once they drop it, a whole bunch of unsupported software will stop working.
